Polystyrene stones

Dear readers,

It's been over a week and scarcely time for working on the new project.  However I did some research
and made a start.  I'll take you along while I make progress.  This polystyrene staff has lots of possibilities in our mini world.

First of all please watch this wonderful video tutorial from youtube.

It shows a fantastic device for cutting the thickness of the boards.  The board is 2 cms thick which is out of scale. I was pleased to discover that it can be cut down to 0.5 cms.  Now we'll have to ask if it can be cut up to order.  The best material is the one that is very dense (no tiny balls).

These are my walls, already lined.  Hopefully when I finish working on them they will resemble stones.

I dry fitted the walls with sellotape to show you, more or less, what the structure will be.
I don't know yet if it will be a shop or something else.  I'm open to suggestions.

Front (very wobbly)

Back (even more wobbly)

We, the local miniaturists are communicating by WhatsApp.  These are the tools we were required
to bring.

Cake decoration tools

A warm welcome to my new followers. Thank you all, old and new friends, for reading my blog

I wish you all a wonderful weekend, the first one in September 2016.

  4. Thank you so much for taking us along with you on this new experience... this is very interesting. I must admit this is on my to-do-list since some time - well, some day I will give it a try. Until then I will enjoy what you're doing... and whatever this building will become in the end, it will be awesome. I must admit to me it cries "flower shop" - but I guess that's just because I love your flowers... ;O)

    Hugs

  10. Hi Drora,
Wow! I really like this cutting device! Is this something that can be purchased, or do you order the sizes to be cut.. I only ask because you made a comment that you need to ask if they can be cut to order.. I really like the idea of using the foil ball to make texture also.. Your building is really great, I think it would make a fantastic
So you are also a great-grandmother too. shop
